How I grew a successful media business- Tofunmi Akinseye, CEO Savvy Media Africa.


She started her journey as an entrepreneur after being influenced by her college peers who already made good use of their free time building something worthwhile.

She wanted to give young people, mostly budding entertainers, a platform to tell their story and let their voices be heard. And now, Savvy Media has attained a competitive level of popularity amongst the Nigerian Youth and over 10 issues of the e-magazine has been published so far.

From having musician, Mr MayD as her first interviewee to having many other popular and hot celebrities of the moment on the cover of her magazine, Savvy Media has definitely had major wins and significant growth since its inception in 2014.

Creating and maintaining relationships properly, having a solid team, are very important when starting out as a media enthusiast, according to Tofunmi. Family and friends were her first supporters during the maiden episode of the SAVVY UNSCRIPTED show.

As time went on, Tofunmi realized it’s time to come to the City Of Excellence and show the world her works, very impressive portfolio and creative ideas. She got to interview superstars like Niniola, Seyi Shay, Annie Idibia and others, and this definitely gave her business a shot at fame.

Savvy Media Africa is where it is today because a young student acted on an idea she had and has been consistently pursuing her passion for the past 7 years. It’s definitely not easy, but it’s worth it!
